False Cases: A Deliberate Attempt to Discredit Mamata
Mamata Banerjee, flanked by her party leaders, alleged that the BJP and the Election Commission (EC) were working in tandem to discredit her and the AITC. She claimed that the EC had registered multiple false cases against her in a bid to tarnish her image and create a perception that she was not fit to contest the election. The AITC leader accused the BJP of using the EC as a tool to further their own party’s interests.
Mamata Banerjee cited several instances where she claimed that the EC had acted unfairly, including the registration of a case against her for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct. She also alleged that the EC had delayed the process of issuing her election nomination papers, which she claimed was a deliberate attempt to disrupt her campaign.
